Fallout 4 isn’t just one of the biggest RPGs, it’s one of the biggest games to come out in the last decade, and a major part of its success was the fact that players on PC and consoles alike got to enjoy it. So if you’re excited to play the Fallout London mod that’s taking the world by storm, you’ll want to know if it’s available on console too, right?

Well, if that sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about whether or not you’ll be able to play Fallout London on console so you can get prepped to explore the destroyed streets of Britain’s fair capital.

Can you play Fallout London on console?

We’ve got bad news for all you console players out there, as Fallout London will not be playable on any consoles at all. Fallout London isn’t technically a separate game from Fallout 4, and is instead a mod, and with no mod support for the game on consoles, there’s unfortunately no way to play it on anything other than a PC, meaning you’ll need to buy another copy.

And it just goes from bad to worse, as there are no plans from the developers Team FOLON to bring the game to console in the future. On the FAQs section of their website, they answer the console question with “We do not plan to bring Fallout: London to any platform other than PC at this time.” before confirming that if any community members want to convert standalone parts of the mod to other platforms, they are welcome to.

With all that being said, the door isn’t completely shut on the prospect of the mod making its way to consoles at some point in the future. In an interview with The Metro, project lead Dean Carter pointed out that the main stopping point for a console point is that they would need Bethesda’s permission to create and market Fallout London as a standalone game.

But while Bethesda have been one of the champions of modding in their games over the years, right now it seems fairly unlikely that they would decide to give their blessing for the distribution of one of these mods as its own separate game on consoles. So, for the moment, it looks like if you want to play Fallout London, you’re going to have to get yourself a PC or laptop to run it on.
