✓ At a glance
  • There are three main factions that are mutually exclusive per play through.
  • Two other crime gangs called the Syndicate and Vagabonds don’t affect the main storyline.
  • There’s a missable micro faction in Camden that’s an easter egg to The Sex Pistols.

Factions are a big part of the gameplay in Fallout games. Players can join various factions and get to experience different quests, meet new characters and more. Fallout London is no different with the game operating similarly to the Fallout New Vegas factions system with choices and consequences. However, it’s somewhat difficult to work out how to join the various factions in the game. Here’s a closer look at the factions you can join, and how to do it.

All Fallout London joinable factions

There are a limited amount of factions players can join in Fallout London, featuring:

  • Camelot
  • Fifth Column
  • Angel
  • Syndicate
  • Vagabonds
  • Pistols

The important thing to note is that the first three factions on the list are main story-related. You will get an option partway through the main story that allows you to investigate one of the three main factions more closely. These are Camelot, Fifth Column and the Anglels. We do not want to mention the option in more detail, as that will spoil the storyline to a degree. However, we can safely tell you that the decision comes part way into the Westminster Act.

You can enter Westminster about a 3rd of the way through the main storyline. You will need to complete the main storyline content with Thameshaven people, followed by the missions with Archie, and then the Ferryman. From there, you explore Lazarus’ main storyline at the St Paul Cathedral, which then leads into the Tommies at the Imperial War Museum. Here, you’ll go to the Bank of England,  help them out, then work through the Heaven questline that takes you through Hackney and Islington. From there, you can unlock the entrance into Westminster, where you will get to know a little more about the factions in the main storyline.

If you’re intending to join the Tommies, be aware you can’t. However, the Tommies play a role in all of the main story factions. The Camelot factions tend to have the more closely aligned storyline out of the three factions. So, that may be a factor when joining a faction in Fallout London.

Be advised that each of the main factions are exclusive. Joining either Camelot, Fifth Column or Angel prevents you from joining the other factions. You can also get a companion for joining Camelot or Fifth Column by the way.

One of the meme factions is the Pistols. These are based on London’s punk-era band The Sex Pistols. You can find them in a pub in Camden, located on the northwest side of the map. You can simply join them and you get your own bedroom for joining them that serves as the old-school player housing from the old Bethesda days of Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3. Be advised Camden is one large map in the northwest of the main London map. You will need to progress the storyline to enter Camden.

How to Join the Vagabond and the Syndicate

However, there are other factions you can join. The Vanguard and the Syndicate are factions that players encounter as part of the gang war storyline. You initially start this quest chain after the tutorial train crash. You’ll speak to Gaunt after the train crash, and he’ll tell you to come to the Swan and Mitre, located in the southeast corner of the map. You’ll have a waypoint on your map to easily find the location. From there, you’ll start questing with the Vagabonds.

Yet, if you want to join the Syndicate, you can do so by following the Vagabond storyline. Part way through you’ll eventually get the chance to join the syndicate if you wish to play that side of the storyline.

Both the Vagabond and the Syndicate are their own storyline and do not affect the outcome of the main storyline  You do have to visit the Isle of Dogs and Millwall areas of the map for some of the early main storyline missions, so keep that in mind.

But this about concludes all you need to know about joining factions in Fallout London.
