Trainers playing the latest season of Pokemon GO have good reason to be excited as they can now evolve the legendary Pokemon, Cosmoem. This is part of the running Special Research Quest called “A Cosmic Companion”, which sees players get their hands on the legendary Pokemon Cosmog. Evolving Cosmoem can lead to two different results depending on the time of day.

This guide will tell you how to get your own Cosmoem and how to evolve it into either Solgaleo or Lunala.
How to Get Cosmoem in Pokemon GO?
Cosmog was given as a free reward to players who played during the Season of Light events. Players unable to participate may have missed their chance at getting Cosmog. The only way players can still obtain Cosmog is if they still have access to the limited-time special research quest, “A Cosmic Companion.”
After getting your Cosmog, you simply have to use around 25 Cosmog candies to evolve it into Cosmoem.
How to Get Cosmog Candy in Pokemon GO?
The easiest way to collect this candy was to participate in the special research event and complete all the tasks. Completing tasks 8 to 12 should give you the exact amount you need for further evolution. You will need 25 Cosmog candies for the first evolution and around 100 for the second evolution into Lunala or Solgaleo.
For players unable to complete them, the only option is to either walk around with Cosmog/Cosmoem as your buddy or use Rare Candy, which is a precious item.
How to Evolve Cosmoem into Lunala in Pokemon GO?
To evolve your Cosmoem into Lunala, you must wait for the game timer to be in the night cycle with the map in its dark night state. During the night, simply click on your Cosmoem’s evolve button when you see Lunala’s silhouette behind it.
Lunala is a Legendary Pokemon with a Psychic/Ghost type. It’s a powerful bat-like Pokemon with a dark shimmering appearance and represents the Moon.
How to Evolve Cosmoem into Solgaleo in Pokemon GO?
To evolve your Cosmoem into Solgaleo, you must wait for the game timer to be in the day cycle with the map in its bright green state. During the day, simply click on your Cosmoem’s evolve button when you see Solgaleo’s silhouette behind it.
Solgaleo is a Legendary Pokemon that’s both a Psychic and Steel type. It is a powerful Lion-like Pokemon with a radiant appearance representing the Sun.

The limited-time Special Research Quest called “A Cosmic Companion” gave an excellent opportunity for players to get their hands on a prized Legendary Pokemon. Players who were able to obtain Cosmog Candies can immediately evolve their Cosmoem into either Solgaleo or Lunala.
