Players who’ve not yet picked up the game on PC or Switch may be curious to know how long this latest game will last them – we’re here to answer that now.

How long is Monster Hunter Rise?

As any long-time Monster Hunter fan may tell you, the length of a Monster Hunter game is very much dependent on how much you want to put into it.

There’s plenty of ways to beat Monster Hunter Rise – with a narrative-led story, but also a whole bunch of extra side missions, content and extra missions to take on.

However, according to HowLongtoBeat.com – Monster Hunter Rise will take you around 21 hours to finish its main story. That timer increases to 73.5 hours if you do all the side quests too.

On top of that, Capcom has been releasing plenty of post-launch content with new missions for seasoned hunters to take on; and they’ve already confirmed they’ll be doing this after Rise’s PS and Xbox launch too.

Potentially then, the game could keep you occupied for a long time to come – with HowLongtoBeat citing a completionist time of a whopping 153 hours. Blimey!

And of course, that’s before factoring in the game’s expansion – Sunbreak – which is also expected to arrive for Xbox and PlayStation later this year.

Monster Hunter Rise arrives on Xbox and PlayStation consoles this Friday, January 20. You can check out our review from the original release here – the game will also be available from launch on Xbox Game Pass.
