The Ultimate TOTS has arrived in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. The Team of the Season promo is now into its final week, bringing an end to seven weeks of incredible new special items. The best of the best have returned to packs in one final send off, and this year there is an added twist.
FUT Season 7 is now underway, and the release of the Ultimate TOTS is the first set of special items to feature. The second set will be the FIFA 23 Shapeshifters, with two of these players already available to unlock as part of the new season progress rewards.
FIFA 23 Ultimate TOTS release date
The Ultimate TOTS release date was June 9. In previous years, the Ultimate Team of the Season has seen 23 players re-released into packs. This year, EA has treated us to 25 of the best Team of the Season items from the past few weeks.
If that wasn’t enough, there are a further eight new Award Winner items to look out for in packs. All the new special items will be available for one week only. They will be replaced by Shapeshifters items on June 16.
TOTS Award Winners
New to this year’s promo are TOTS award winners. Award Winners players will have identical stats to their Team of the Season items, but with a different design. According to EA, TOTS Award Winner items will be available in select store packs and engagement packs only during Ultimate TOTS week.
We can’t help but feel EA has missed a trick by not including these players in some form of objective, challenge or live event. It’s also a shame that the attributes are no different to the already released TOTS items.
Eight players have received a TOTS Award Winner item. The players are as follows:
- Kylian Mbappe (OVR 97) – Ligue 1 Golden Boot and Player of the Year
- Erling Haaland (OVR 97) – Premier League Golden Boot and Player of the Year
- Jude Bellingham (OVR 97) – Bundesliga Player of the Year
- Victor Osimhen (OVR 97) – Serie A Golden Boot
- Robert Lewandowski (OVR 97) – LaLiga Golden Boot
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (OVR 96) – Serie A Player of the Year
- Christopher Nkunku (OVR 95) – Bundesliga Golden Boot
- Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 94) – LaLiga Golden Glove
FIFA 23 Ultimate TOTS
EA has gone all out this week for the final ever Team of the Season release as part of the FIFA franchise. EA Sports FC will takeover next season, although Team of the Season will likely still feature.
Lionel Messi (OVR 98) is the highest-rated player to be released in the event. There were ten players with a 97 rating released during the past seven weeks, and only Luka Modric has missed out from that group.
Lionel Messi
The best player released in the event so far, Lionel Messi’s TOTS item is worth over 3.5 million coins on the FUT Transfer Market. His 98 OVR sets him clear of the competition at the top, and he was a guarantee for the Ultimate TOTS squad after headlining the Ligue 1 TOTS team.
In total, Messi boasts ten individual attributes rated 99, including Acceleration, Attack Positioning, Long Shots, and Dribbling. His insane dribbling and shooting skills make him almost unplayable in the game, although just four-star weak foot is a slight chink in his armour.
Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe’s TOTS item is currently the fourth most valuable in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. He is the most expensive non-Icon player though! Adding the PSG superstar to your club will cost you over eight million coins, but his 99 Pace, 99 Finishing, and 99 Dribbling is just incredible.
The 97 OVR is the same as his TOTY item, but there are some slight differences between the two. The new TOTS item boasts slightly better shooting and dribbling attributes, but is weaker in the defending and physical categories.
Erling Haaland
After such an impressive first season Manchester City, it is no surprise to see Haaland as one of the top-rated players in the TOTS event. Haaland’s 36 goals in the Premier League has set a new record, reflected in his terrific 97 OVR item.
The Norwegian hitman possesses 99 Sprint Speed, 99 Finishing, and 99 Strength, making him close to unstoppable. A five-star weak foot makes him just as clinical with either foot too!
Kevin De Bruyne
Man City maestro Kevin De Bruyne has produced yet another season of classy performances from the middle of the park. The Belgian led the league in assists with 16, while also chipping in with seven goals as Pep Guardiola’s side claimed another Premier League title.
Like his teammate Haaland, KDB also boasts five-star weak foot, meaning his passing range is exquisite with both feet. De Bruyne’s TOTS item also features 99 Stamina and high work rates, making him equally brilliant as a box-to-box midfielder or in a more creative CAM role.
Jude Bellingham
The best all round midfielder in the game. England and Borussia Dortmund ace Jude Bellingham possesses all the physical and technical attributes in FUT 23 to thrive.
There is a reason why Bellingham’s TOTS item costs just under 4.5 million coins. Great attributes across the board including 99 Stamina, 99 Short Pass, and 99 Long Pass make Bellingham one of the games most sought after players.

End of an Era SBCs
Roberto Firmino is the first End of an Era item to be released during Ultimate TOTS. Fellow Liverpool star James Milner has alsobeen leaked to arrive. Reliable leaker FUT Sheriff has confirmed the former England international’s arrival.
Sergio Busquets, Marco Asensio, and Jonas Hector are three more stars set to receive an End of an Era item. With five players ‘confirmed’ by leakers, there are two spots left for EA to dish out these mega items.
Karim Benzema and Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be two popular choices among the community. Both would command a hefty price tag, but Ibrahimovic in particular is a FUT fan favourite. Real Betis legend Joaquin may fill the last spot after the 41-year-old confirmed his retirement at the end of the season.
The players involved in the Ultimate TOTS will possess some serious firepower.
