The best teams to rebuild are not the ones that you can win with quickly. Schools like Georgia, UNC, Notre Dame, Texas, Clemson, Arizona, Texas A&M, or Washington don’t need to be rebuilt. They are either already great or solid, so you would have little to no difficulty getting them to that next level. Taking a broken or unheralded program to relevancy is what so many players like doing in Dynasty Mode, and the following teams fit that bill perfectly.
5) Ball State
Ball State is one of the worst-rated teams in College Football 25. Bringing them even into the top 25 at any point would be a massive success for your Dynasty Mode playthrough. Their best player is an 83 OVR guard, which means they’re pretty much devoid of top-end talent. As the coach, it’ll be your job to defy the odds. The only reason they’re not higher is because it will actually be incredibly difficult to fix this team. Nevertheless, they are one of the best teams to rebuild.
4) Appalachian State
In general, these small, almost unheard-of state schools are great choices. If Appalachian State ever became nationally relevant in the college football world, it would be huge news. If you can say that about a team in College Football 25, they’re a good choice to rebuild. Appalachian State has a solid offense, which helps in the arcade-style gameplay. They have to contend with UNC, NC State, Duke, and others recruiting in-state, which also gives you a challenge.

3) Kennesaw State
Kennesaw State is a really good team to try and rebuild in Dynasty Mode. They are in the Georgia pipeline, which means you’re recruiting against the Georgia Bulldogs as well as Georgia Tech. However, the talent in this pipeline is so good that you should be able to find good players and get this team relevant for really the first time ever. Plus, their touchdowns result in a call of, “You don’t give a hoot? Kennesaw State does!” which makes it all the more enjoyable.
2) Nebraska
Nebraska is not like the rest of these teams. Despite a complete lack of success, they’re still fairly relevant. However, they haven’t been ranked in about a decade, so they’re not in a good spot. They also play in a tougher conference than the rest of these schools, which makes bringing them to the top a lot more challenging. When C-USA teams are the main opponents, it’s easier to rebuild a team. When they’re Big 10 squads, it’s another story. That makes Nebraska one of the best teams to rebuild.
1) Marshall
Marshall has a big problem. Their best-rated player is an 83 OVR middle linebacker, and he’s a senior. After the first season, your roster will be truly devoid of talent. That makes them an enticing option to take over in Dynasty Mode. If you can recruit well, you can get Marshall to glory, but it will be an incredibly tall task. Plus, the sophomore QB is just 78 OVR, and he doesn’t have a ton of eligibility left. That adds another wrinkle.
