Diablo 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on March 28th, and ahead of it’s release there’s a few things you should know. You’re going to want to know what the best graphics settings are, alongside a few tips on how to download it from Game Pass.

Announced as part of an Xbox podcast in February and on the Xbox social media channels, Diablo 4 is now confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass imminently.

Previously back when Diablo 4 originally launched, Rod Fergusson, Diablo 4’s General Manager over at Activision Blizzard, had claimed that they’ve “been getting some questions about D4 on Game Pass and I want to let you know we have no plans for that”. It now seems they’ve changed their mind – and you’ll be able to play the game as part of the Game Pass service in just a short few days time.

In fact, as part of the podcast, Xbox confirmed that it’s in the process of bringing more Activision Blizzard games will be coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next few months – with Diablo 4 as the first. There was no date yet given for other games such as Overwatch and, of course, Call of Duty.

The good news is, as per our Diablo 4 review, it is a brilliant game and will please both veteran fans of the series and those looking to try out Blizzard’s action RPG for the first time.

How to preload Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass

You’re going to be able to preload Diablo 4 from Xbox Game Pass with this neat little trick. Though, at the moment, the Xbox App on PC doesn’t list Diablo 4 as one of its titles, the mobile app on iOS and Android does. From here, you’re going to be able to click install, which should begin preloading the game on your linked PC.

You won’t be able to play Diablo 4 via Xbox Game Pass until the specific release time, which is unconfirmed as of yet.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, we’d imagine that the game would be available at 14:00 GMT, which is 10:00 in EST time zones.

How to download Diablo 4 from Xbox Game Pass

As per Blizzard and Xbox’s own advice, downloading Diablo 4 from Xbox Game Pass is pretty simple. It’s going to require a few more clicks than normal, partly due to the fact that you need to be playing D4 through the Battle.net launcher.

  1. Open the Xbox app on your PC

    You’re going to need to sign in with your Microsoft account, through which you should see Diablo 4 in your library.

  2. Install Battle.net

    You’re going to need to install the Battle.net launcher, which is going to be the app you run Diablo 4 out of. Since it’s an online only game, this is going to be pretty necessary.

  3. Sign in to your Battle.net account and link to your Microsoft account

    You will be prompted to do this by the Battle.net launcher

  4. Complete the installation of Diablo 4

    Fortunately, you’re actually going to be able to preload Diablo 4 by launching the Xbox app from your phone.
