Wondering if Death Stranding 2 has new game plus? Once you’ve wrapped up Kojima’s latest wild story and watched the credits roll, you might want to jump right back in to experience it all again. In many games, New Game Plus is offered to players, letting them carry over much of their gear, character progress, and so on, while enemies are scaled to present an appropriate challenge.
The original Death Stranding doesn’t have New Game Plus so you can probably guess where we’re heading with this. In this guide, we’ll walk through whether or not Death Stranding 2 has New Game Plus.
Can you play Death Stranding 2 NG+?
No, Death Stranding 2 doesn’t feature New Game Plus that lets you fire up a new save and start the story from the beginning with all the gear and progress obtained in your first playthrough. If you want to play from the beginning you’ll need to start a brand new save.
There is, however, a post-story state that gives you free reign to explore the map as long as you want. It’s essentially a perpetual free-roam state. It even has its own never-ending chapter called Episode 14 One Day where you can take on any remaining Sub Orders, complete repeatable Standard Orders, hoover up any remaining Aid Requests, deliver Lost Cargo, and raise the connection level with facilities and preppers across Mexico and Australia to unlock new gear, weapons, and cosmetic items.
Additionally, finishing the story unlocks an option called the Drawbridge Q-pid that you can toggle on and off from the pause menu. When on, the option significantly reduces the number of mech and BT enemies you’ll encounter on the map. The idea is to make it easier and quicker for players to complete orders and deliver cargo. With the Drawbridge Q-pid turned off, the threat level remains the same as during the story, perfect if you enjoy the challenge of combat.
