We’ll answer that ahead.

Can you play Counter Strike 2 on Linux?
For the moment, we don’t have any confirmation on whether or not Counter Strike 2 will run on Linux. The beta tests for the game were only available on Windows. So it stands to reason that Windows will be the only supported platform at launch. We also don’t know if you can use Proton to fix the compatibility. But if you’re already gaming on Linux, then you may already be using this, so it’s worth a try.
That being said, it seems likely that CS2 may eventually get a Linux version. Given that the Steam Deck’s operating system, SteamOS is Linux based, our guess is that the port is already in the works and will make its way to Linux platforms not too far after launch.
