How to find Sussur Tree Bark in Baldur’s Gate 3

Sussur Bark can be found near the Sussur Tree waypoint in the Underdark region in Baldur’s Gate 3. This item is known as Sussur Tree Bark, as it comes from the Sussur Tree itself. This subterranean location is rife with conflict. You’ll encounter a bunch of species that you can interact with. You can access this location via multiple paths.

Here are all Underdark entrances in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can use the elevator in the Zhentarim Hideout, fall through the pit in the Whispering Depths with the Featherfall spell, or enter via the Defiled Temple. Just watch out for Hook Horrors on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.

Here’s how to find the Sussur Bark in Baldur’s Gate 3:

• Once you’re in the Underdark, head to the far western side. 
• Expect several Hooked Horror enemies to challenge you. The easiest way to take them out is by pushing them off cliffs and heights. Watch out, they’re very deadly in melee!
• You’ll soon find a massive tree near the Sussur Tree waypoint. Walk on the branches to reach the center of this tree.

• This home is to the east of the windmill in the Blighted Village. The eastern room in this building has a hole covered by a calcified web. Clear this with a fire bolt and get the old key from a crate near the fireplace before jumping in.
• Right after entering the forge, you’ll have to pass a Perception check to spot a chest.
• HighCliff’s blueprints are in a booby-trapped wooden chest. Pass a Sleight of Hand DC 10 skill check to open it. Interacting with it tells you that you need Sussur Tree Bark to make the weapon.
• Going through the bottom doors will lead you to a forge. Start the furnace and use the blacksmith’s bellows next to it to start up the melting furnace. 
• Add the Sussur Bark to the furnace. This will turn the flames from red to blue. Adding a Sickle, Greatsword, or Dagger, to create the Sussur variant.
