Want to know how to set up leave camp in BG3? If you’ve been itching to continue your trek through Faerûn, then we’ve got you covered. Heading to your home base periodically is a necessary part of the game. Since your spell slots can only be replenished with a little rest and relaxation, you will most likely be taking lengthy respites after every major battle.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t exactly tell you how to leave your camp once you’re done resting. If you’re unsure how to set up and leave camp in BG3, we’ll cover it in this guide and explain how you can get back on the road. You’ll be back toward Last Light Inn and heading for Baldur’s Gate in no time. PC players have been having a great time in Faerun and PS5 players will be gaining early access entry into Baldur’s Gate 3 pretty soon.
How to set up camp in Baldur’s Gate 3
Press the campfire button and select the camp option to set up camp in Baldur’s Gate 3. Note that you’ll need to be out of combat to do so. You don’t necessarily have to take a rest after heading to your camp. Use this to rearrange your inventory and get items from the stash. In addition, you can also send items directly to your stash from anywhere in Faerun.
As for a short rest, you don’t need to set up camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 for it. Just pick the option from the campfire menu and you’ll restore some of your party’s health.
How do you leave camp in Baldur’s Gate 3
To leave your camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, press on the campfire or any bedroll once you’re done resting. This will take you back to your previous location where you chose to take a long rest. The bedrolls will also look a little different depending on whether or not you’ve taken a Long Rest. If you’ve only popped into camp for a moment to talk to a companion or something similar, then the bedrolls will be unfurled and flat out on the ground. If you’re turning in for the night and have just woken from sleep, they’ll be packed up into their cylindrical bags.
Alternatively, you can also leave camp by selecting a Waypoint to fast travel on the in-game map. You can access this feature by pressing M on your keyboard. Once open, you can then fast travel by selecting a location from the list in the upper right-hand side. The fast travel screen has all the areas where you’ve found Rune Circles. This lets you quickly access an area you want to go to as opposed to leaving the camp through the previous method.
Finally, you can also leave your camp by selecting the Campfire icon on your HUD. As soon as the menu’s expanded, highlight the ‘Leave Camp’ icon directly above it and press it. It’s a small fire icon below the map navigation option in the right corner above your interaction bar. This will have the same effect as the bedroll/campfire method as it similarly takes you to your previous location.
Here are all of the methods you can use to leave camp in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Select your bedroll or the unlit campfire to exit the campsite.
- Choose a Waypoint from the in-game map’s list.
- Open the Camp and Resting Menu and press the Leave Camp option.
How do you use camp in Baldur’s Gate 3
To use camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, select the Campfire icon on your HUD and press the ‘Long Rest’ option on the expanded menu. It’s on the bottom of your screen. Once you confirm, this will immediately bring you to your home base along with your companions. The camp acts as your central hub, remaining accessible throughout the game, changing design styles to reflect the general location along the way. It’s your main point for rest in between the adventure through the wilderness of the Forgotten Realms. This includes full rests (or long rests), partial rests, and short rests (though these can be done outside of your safe haven too).
Taking long rests does require you to expend 40 camp supplies each time. Fortunately, there are plenty of food and drink items scattered throughout the game in random crates and barrels. You can also buy them from vendors. This means that acquiring these resources shouldn’t be an issue as long as you take the time to scour random containers.
