Avowed is a role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. Set in the fantasy world of Eora, the game takes place in the same universe as Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity series. Players assume the role of a customizable protagonist, exploring a detailed open world filled with magic, intrigue, and political conflict. The game focuses on RPG narrative choices, real-time combat, and character progression. Featuring both first-person and third-person perspectives, Avowed puts you in the adventuring boots of an emissary from Aedyr on a mission to investigate the source of a mysterious plague. Avowed release date
Avowed was released on February 18, 2025. In addition, the game was released five days earlier for players who have bought the Premium Edition, on February 13.
Which platforms was Avowed released on?
Avowed was released on PC through Steam and Battle.net, as well as on Xbox Series X|S. In addition, the game has been available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Avowed still hasn’t been verified for Steam Deck, though some players have reported that the game is playable on lower frame rates. There have been no official confirmations that Avowed will be released on PlayStation at a later date, though it’s highly possible based on Obsidian’s previous releases.
Avowed editions and pre-order bonuses
Avowed comes with a few Editions, as well as a pre-order bonus for those who opted for the Premium Edition. With the Standard Edition, you only get the base game, with no pre-order bonus. However, if you get the Premium Edition, you will get the following perks:

- Five days early access (pre-order bonus, starting on February 13)
- Eora Collection Set (premium pack of 5 skins inspired by Pillars of Eternity)
