At an early point in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll face a decision about letting young Junjiro stay in your Hideout or sending him on his way. It’s the kind of choice that might make you wonder if your actions have consequences. Will telling him to leave really affect the story for either Naoe and Yasuke or the young boy? Here’s the lowdown on what happens in AC Shadows if you choose to let Junjiro stay or ask him to leave.
Should you let Junjiro stay?
The short answer is that it doesn’t really make a difference. Here’s what happens depending on your choice:
Dialogue option | Result |
---|---|
If you tell Junjiro to stay | Junjiro gladly settles in at your Hideout. |
If you tell Junjiro to leave | Junjiro will still stay, happily running back in shouting “Yatta!” after Sorin insists that he stays, regardless of what you say. |
So, whether you want him there or not, Junjiro is sticking around. The Hideout might not be the safest place for a young kid, but the dangerous wilderness of 16th-century Japan isn’t exactly ideal either. It might feel a bit anticlimactic, but that’s the way things play out. In any case, you will always be able to find Junjiro back in your Hideout in both cases.
What happens in Canon Mode?
If you’re playing with Canon Mode turned On (an optional setting that removes dialogue choices), Junjiro will once again definitely stay in your Hideout, no matter what. While we haven’t explored every dialogue decision in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, this is just one of many moments where it seems like you have a choice, but it’s actually more of an illusion of choice.
In the end, don’t stress too much about this decision – Junjiro’s staying, no matter what. You can learn more about the game’s twists and turns by reading our review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
