Now that the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is practically here, fans of the popular first-person shooter will be getting their latest glimpses into all of the operators they can choose from. While there were a total of 23 operators available in the game during launch, those who pre-ordered the game were also able to take part in special early access to the campaign, which featured the familiar operators in Ghost, Price, and Soap.
Throughout the course of each season, however, more operators have gradually been introduced to MW2’s growing roster and there will surely be more operators that players can unlock as more chapters are introduced. As more operators are added to the game, this list will be updated to remain as accurate as possible.

Every Operator in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
There are two different factions that operators are broken up into for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. These are the SpecGru and KorTac factions. The SpecGru initially had 12 playable operators at launch, and the KorTac had 11. In addition, players will also have access to the default Mil-Sim operators that they can choose from each specific faction.
With the release of Warzone 2.0 Season 1 on November 16, 2022, players were also be able to choose any of the available operators to play on the battlefield. This of course included additions to the roster that appeared during the first season such as Lionel Messi and Zeus.
Now that Season 2 is here, more names are set to be introduced into the game’s growing character list. This time, Daniel “Ronin” Shinoda is making his return to the fray after initially appearing in the 2019 Modern Warfare title.
Here is a look at all of the operators players can use in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
SpecGru Operators for COD Modern Warfare 2
Players of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 may recognize many of the names available for operators in the SpecGru faction as quite a few of them have rejoined the roster this time around. However, there are also a few operators that were included as part of the Vault Edition Red Team 141 Pack, which included Price, Ghost, Farah and Soap operators wearing special masks. Some were also only available through unique celebrations such as the Modern Warfare FC event that featured Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba as playable operators.

KorTac Operators for COD Modern Warfare 2
For the other faction in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, players can take control of the KorTac operators, which included 11 at launch, one of which was exclusive to PlayStation players. The Oni Operator, known as Hiro “Oni” Wantanabe could only be picked up as part of the exclusive PlayStation preorder bonus in addition to a special blueprint and other cosmetic items.
Much like SpecGru, a number of operators were also introduced throughout the course of each season such as the imposing Zeus and the agile Neymar Jr.
