Tom Orry, Editor - Pure, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

There are few gaming moments that can compete with pulling off a massive jump in Pure. I've already explained why it's one of the best arcade racers released in years, but in case you missed it or are still undecided over Disney's 360, PS3 and PC racer, go and buy it now. I've read some complaints about a lack of replay value and that the career mode is too short, but you'll get a good 15 hours out of the career and a lot more if you venture online. The console versions can be bought for under £30 online, so if you're hankering for some high-octane racing thrills there's no better alternative out right now.

You can't tell, but I've got bags under my eyes. Nice, juicy ones, too. And it's all down to WAR. Or should that be 'waaagh!'. Now that my warrior priest is getting more powerful, I'm starting to experience more high-end stuff, like open world RvR. My first experience of this, in the Empire starting area of Nordland, was a genuinely confusing, sink or swim affair, involving a pack of us Order sitting at the bottom of a hill watching a pack of them Destruction sitting at the top of a hill. This went on for about 10 minutes until I got bored, crept forward and got killed in two seconds flat. I respawned and decided to do some quests instead. What a game.

James Orry, News Editor - Far Cry 2, Xbox 360

We got a preview build of Far Cry 2 in the office this week so I nabbed a quick go while Tom was making his seventh coffee of the day. I didn't really have time to delve into the game properly so I set about trying to cause as much trouble as possible. In what must be one of the luckiest gaming moments of my life I managed to make a Jeep jump over my head and set fire to a desert jungle all in the space of a few seconds. After angering a group of enemies they chased after me in their Jeep. I ran off, then turned and lobbed a badly aimed grenade into the floor. The Jeep continued towards me, the grenade detonated and the jeep exploded. It flew over my head while ablaze and smashed into a tree. The tree caught fire and the fire proceeded to propagate through the nearby long grass. Considering I'd been playing for all of two minutes I was quite impressed with myself.

Seb Ford, Video Producer - Pure, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

I don't usually go for racing games, and in all honesty when I started playing Pure I wanted to hate it. But after an initial grind through the early stages I found myself becoming slowly hooked, replaying levels multiple times just to gain every last point I could. Coupled with the constant rebuilding of your ATV, I just couldn't put the thing down. Shy of actually wanting to go and purchase an ATV of my own, it has at least opened my eyes to the idea of tearing around mud tracks and driving off 500ft cliffs all in the name of "fun".
