GSC Game World is far from done with Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. After releasing in a rough state, the Ukrainian game studio is still working on fixes for a slew of issues, including the game’s A-Life AI system

Alongside continued bug fixing and gameplay improvements, GSC is also working on Stalker 2 expansions that will add new content to the game. Alongside plans to introduce cut content that was scrapped during development, new expansions will aim to offer players with unique experiences never seen in the series.

What can we expect from Stalker 2 expansions?

Speaking to VideoGamer, GSC Game World explained that the plan for Stalker 2 expansions is to add entirely “fresh perspectives” on the game’s mysterious Zone that have never been explored before.

With years of gameplay improvements and new content in the works, there is a possibility that the version of Heart of Chornobyl we play in five years time will be drastically different from what we have now.

“Players will be the best judges of that,” the developer explained. “As for us, we’ll keep working hard to make sure they’re not disappointed.”

Of course, with expansions still in development at the time of writing, GSC won’t reveal any actual content we’ll be playing through in the future. However, the new expansions are specifically story expansions, and we can expect to play through entirely new campaigns with their own goals.

“To keep this from sounding too vague — though it’s absolutely sincere — we want to reassure everyone that with the story expansions, we’re really eager to surprise players and show this world from fresh perspectives,” the studio explained. “We can’t wait to share more, but everything in its own time.”
