Last Friday, Pearson and I spent most of the afternoon watching game-related internet memes on YouTube – our clear favourite being some jolly japes featuring the Fus Ro Dah shout from Skyrim. After having his patience tested for too long, Tom Orry snapped and wrestled us to the ground – freezing us in place with a mixture of his powerful hands and fearsome beard.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” he shouted, with the exact same energy of the Dovahkiin blasting out a three-word Thu’um. Gripped by unimaginable terror, Pearson soiled his own pants and shouted that we were researching an article for the website. I, too, was consumed by fear – I said nothing.

“IS THIS TRUE, MARTIN???” Tom Orry blasted with his powerful voice. All I could manage was a weak and feeble nod.

“THEN YOU BETTER GET STARTED ON IT!!!!!!!!” roared Tom, before taking flight and returning to his mountain lair high above the VideoGamer.com office. Pearson’s quick thinking had saved us from a painful and excruciating death, and I am forever at his service because of it. On with the videos!

Fus Ro DaaaAAAaagh!!

The original, according to Know Your Meme, splices the trailer with a FAIL video. If you don’t know what FAIL videos are, well, you do. You definitely do. The average internet user experiences one every 14 seconds. Here it is in all its meme-defining glory.

Fus Ro Preach!!

This guy has definitely mastered the arts of the Thu’um, and this artfully created video shows just how powerful even some weird looking Dragonborn who doesn’t even open his eyes can become.

Fus Ro Ducks!!

I’m not a mathematician, but even I’m clever enough to know that mixing popular online videos with the Fus Ro Dah meme is guaranteed hilarity. Just look at these ducks in the wind, being propelled forwards by the powerful Dragonborn shout! And, yes, continuity fans will notice that the video takes the liberty of a second Fus Ro Dah without using the game’s correct recharge time.

Fusion Ro Dah!!

SeQuant labs develop “innovative products for separation and purification” according to their website. “All types of hydrophilic analytes can be separated with ZIC®-HILIC HPLC,” it adds. And also the company can make massive pneumatic cannons to emulate the raw power of Skyrim’s most entertaining Th’uum:

Fus Ro Daaaaahchooo!!

Again, most of these videos just repurpose old jokes with slight twists. That’s to be expected – this is the internet, after all. If you’ve been on YouTube, you’ll have seen the sneezing panda, but now Skyrim has given him something to sneeze about. Great work, Bethesda!

Fus Rawk Dah!!

Maybe I just watched too much Frozen Planet last year, but I absolutely love penguins. They’re the best, with their squawky little beaks and funny bodies and, like, flippers or whatever. This exclusive – and previously unseen – video shows what happened when BBC’s research team introduced Skyrim to a flock of penguins.

Fus Ro Date!!

And, finally, there’s this. Gloriously stupid. Words don’t do it justice, so I won’t try.
