Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Also worth a look

It's not often we say this, but there's no single game released this week that we feel deserves a recommendation to buy. What we do have is three games that may well appeal to certain crowds or be rather great when we get to play them. The Godfather 2 is without a doubt the biggest release of the week and you can find our full review here. While it has its fun moments, it's simply too bogged down by archaic game design problems to compare with the best of the open-world genre

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops/Silent Hill Origins Doublepack offers pretty great value for two extremely solid portable games, but we are only talking about some old releases bundled together; Blue Dragon Plus offers a very competent portable take on the cartoon, that might actually be better than the Xbox 360 game; and we've yet to try out Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, which has every chance of being great, but we're not recommending it based on previous games alone.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor - PC

The Godfather 2 - Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops/Silent Hill Origins Doublepack - PSP

Blue Dragon Plus - DS
