Recommended: Ninja Blade - Xbox 360

If you like over the top hack 'n' slash action then you're in luck. Ninja Blade is essentially a simpler Ninja Gaiden, with a storyline that takes things to the extreme. Fans of giant spiders, worms, and crabs should take note as there are plenty of massive boss battles on offer here. At one stage you even fight a Fire Hydra while walking along the wings of a massive aeroplane. There are a lot of Quick Time Events in Ninja Blade, which might put off a few gamers, but they work surprisingly well and it's hard to imagine how those moments would play out if you were in direct control.

Also worth a look

These three are rather different in what they offer, but may well find an audience on their release this Friday. Disgaea and Valkyrie Profile are pretty hardcore Square Enix RPGs, whereas Wanted is an action packed bullet-curving third-person shooter that fans of the film are sure to get some enjoyment from.
