Recommendation of the Week: Gears of War, Xbox 360

Microsoft and Epic got Xbox 360 gamers excited over the weekend with the release of the first in-game gameplay from Gears of War 2. While the game sure looks brilliant, we wouldn't be getting up early on a Saturday morning to watch a few minutes of footage had the first game been average.

This week sees the re-release of Gears of War in the Xbox Classics range, offering those yet to enjoy the bloody tactical combat the chance to get in on the action before the sequel lands this November.

Gears certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea, but at a new budget price you'd be hard pressed to find a better way to spend your cash this week.

Also out this week

Forza Motorsport 2, Xbox 360: Joining Gears of War as part of the budget Classics collection is Microsoft's Forza Motorsport 2, a racing simulation that features some of the best online integration seen in a racing title to date. It puts the feeble efforts of GT5: Prologue to shame and the racing isn't half bad either.

If you've been finding the ultra realistic nature of GT5: Prologue a little too punishing then Forza 2 is well worth taking for a spin as it's every so slightly easier on beginners.
