Should I buy a Meta Quest 2 or PSVR this Black Friday?
First things first, it’s probably not worth considering the PSVR if you don’t have a PlayStation. Otherwise, you’d be spending upwards of $800 on the full package of hardware and games. The Quest 2 meanwhile has one of the largest libraries of VR games out there, plus there are a ton of non-gaming features you can use it for.
That being said, both the Quest 2 and PSVR have been succeeded by the Quest 3 and PSVR 2. Given VR headsets are still in an embryonic stage, there are sizable leaps between generations. So, if you can afford the premium cost of a VR headset released in 2023, the Quest 3 looks like the purchase for 2023, so long as you don’t game mostly on PS5.
