BioWare has denied it is working on a version of Mass Effect 2 for PS3. Rumours took hold when what was claimed to be Mass Effect 2 game code, taken from the PC version of the game, was discovered to reference the PS3. See the bold code fragment below:

However, before PS3 gamers could begin to imagine what it would be like to play the acclaimed sci-fi RPG, BioWare community coordinator Chris Priestly posted a firm denial on the game’s forum.

“The Unreal Engine is cross platform, hence the PS3 code. This was brought up back in Mass Effect 1 days as well.

“Mass Effect is for the PC and Xbox 360.”

Mass Effect 2 is out now for Xbox 360 and PC.
