The internet has been buzzing with rumours of an online game set in the Battlestar Galactica universe.
A French wing of Vivendi Games reportedly confirmed today that an Xbox 360 title based on the hit TV remake is in the works, but no further details have been confirmed. Information about a Battlestar Galactica game targeting the “online masses” originally surfaced on a leading American retailer’s website and this led many to speculate that it could be an MMO. An October release date was also mooted.
However, Vivendi Games’ label Sierra Online was said to to be working on an Xbox Live Arcade title set in the Battlestar Galactica universe, so this could actually be the game everyone is talking about.
As we reported last year, Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore has already revealed that he was considering a video game based on the acclaimed sci-fi series but no more information has surfaced since.
Vivendi UK declined to comment on the story when we contacted them today, so it looks like only time will tell on this one…
