A lovely little surprise from PSX over the weekend, as Sony has announced that its classic PS1 action-adventure MediEvil is to see a release on the PlayStation 4 in 2018.

In case you weren't aware, MediEvil chronicles the adventures of Sir Daniel Fortesque, a well-meaning but initially-inept knight who dies to the first arrow fired in a battle against evil sorcerer Zarok, only to be inadvertently resurrected a hundred years later when Zarok returns and raises an army of undead soldiers to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere. 

This new version is a full remaster said to be in the style of the recent Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, with full 4K visuals. Presumably, it'll be both main games though this hasn't been confirmed: two main games in the series were released in 1998 and 2000 on the PS1, with a PSP 'retelling' of the first game on the PSP entitled Resurrection.
