As promised Remedy Entertainment's Quantum Break went big at Gamescom 2014, treating viewers of the Xbox Conference with eight minutes of gameplay.

It's looking really good, but make up your own mind by watching the video below.

Quantum Break will be released only for Xbox One.

Endless do you propose they demonstrate live action and outside interaction in a tech demo without there being any kind of TV show or mini-series to support it? Can't be done if you ask me. The most they could do would be something like The Secret World where they set up fictitious website that worked with the clues given within the gave to solve the puzzles.

I'm way too optimistic for this forum these days it seems >.>

To be fair I'm a bit of a Remedy fan boy their games just seem to hit every button I love about gaming.

During the development of Alan Wake I started talking to a couple of randoms on their forums one turned out to be Matias Myllyrinne who is a genuinely lovely bloke and the other a senior developer. Whom I shall not name as I did leak a little info about Alan Wake that he talked to me about that I shouldn't have so don't want to get him into trouble.

I still talk to the developer and I will say that you have to remember that this is just a demo outlaying the game play mechanic.

For me there are a lot of elements that are reminiscent to Max Payne and it's bullet time however they have take that concept and mixed it with the the mechanics from Wake where light was used as a weapon and it would seem as though time is now the mechanic that can be manipulated as a weapon.

The live action has gone quiet and I haven't been able to gage anything with that so maybe that element has been withdrawn or is under wraps. However I'd expect the latter as there was a mini series even for Alan Wake.

Tulipanzo@ Karlius

Seriously? They just showed 8 minutes of a guy shooting and stopping time. The one interesting thing was when he "launched" the car at the end. Do you have more info on the story?

Looks like a bog standard third person cover shooter I am extremely disappointed. I expected this to be a big game and now I won't even pre order it. I was really expecting a new experience with the TV elements, but they said nothing about them which probably means they have been dropped.

Quantum Break pretty much summed up Microsoft's show pretty boring and nothing really worth talking about (apart from Tomb Raider)

It looks like Alan Wake meets Max Payne. The mechanics seem like a mixture of both the games with additional elements and to me looks like the must own game of the generation thus far. Especially as I love Alan Wake (In my Top 5 Games of last Gen) and the original Max Paynes.

Lets just hope they don't scrap the game and restart after two years.

If anything it reminds me too much of Max Payne 3. Graphics look great though. Looks a bit dull though gameplay wise, nothing we haven't really seen before
