A brand new DLC pack will be available to download for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare from today, EA has announced.

The free Zomboss Down pack takes Garden Warfare to the Wild West with a new Cactus Canyon map for use within Gardens and Graveyards, along with eight new playable characters and over 200 customisation items.

The pack also boosts each character's level cap from 20 to 30.

"In Zomboss Down the plants have blasted down Dr. Zomboss's blimp and unleashed packs of zombies, who are now roaming the desert and battling their way through the wreckage to reach the local golf course," says EA.

"This golf course doubles as a super-secret facility housing a Cactus army on the unbelievable new Gardens and Graveyards Map, Cactus Canyon. Players will also enjoy increased character levels and eight fun new characters like the Archeologist Zombie, the Wrestling Star Zombie, the Law Pea and the Sun Pharaoh. In addition, players will discover weapon upgrades and skins for new characters, new accessories, tattoos and facial hair, and even more."

To find out more about the pack have a gander at the video below.

A PC version of Garden Warfare is expected to launch later this spring.

This update is full of bugs and has completely ruined two player split-screen gameplay. The graphics and game landscapes are a mess. The characters can walk through solid parts of the landscape as you try to walk around, and don't stay above-ground when the landscape raises, so it looks like your character is sinking in quicksand and you can't see your gun target. Even worse, the zombies don't actually attack. The icon appears to tell you they're coming, but they never attack. If you follow the zombie icon in the direction they're supposed to come from, you'll find them just standing there completely still. The same levels we'd enjoyed a day before are now completely unplayable. It's a nightmare trying to contact EA about this on their website. We just spent $40 on the game a week ago and had been having fun with it until this happened. What a rip off! Clearly they barely tested this update before forcing it on us. We will be wary of dropping more small fortunes on future poorly engineered EA releases.
