There is “plenty of chance” that Halo 5: Guardians could come to PC, franchise development director Frank O’Connor has said, revealing that it “wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world” to port the game and “take advantage of PC stuff”.

Speaking during a livestream hosted by Gamesradar last night, O’Conner explained that “Microsoft has made a huge commitment to try and sort of I think normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms. You see the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear in Xbox and Cortana and stuff like that.

“There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC. Nothing to announce at this point, but it’s absolutely not out with the bounds of reason. You know, we developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff. But nothing I announce today on this chat.”

Halo 5 is currently only confirmed for release on Xbox One, although Microsoft has previously hinted at plans to bring more of its major franchises to PC.

Back in January, shortly after Fable Legends was confirmed for release on PC as well as Xbox One, Microsoft explained that the game “is just the first of the major game franchises from Microsoft Studios coming to Windows 10 and we will have more to share in the coming months.”

It later revealed that the Xbox One remake of the original Gears of War, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, would also be coming to PC, with a release expected later this year. It also has plans to ship Halo Wars 2 on PC and Xbox One in autumn 2016.

Halo 5: Guardians launches on Xbox One next Tuesday, October 27.
