Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer for Xbox One will run on dedicated servers powered by the cloud, Microsoft has announced.

This marks a major change from the P2P structure used in earlier Call of Duty titles for consoles. It's not known if the PS4 version will offer dedicated servers.

In addition, Microsoft is teaming up with Activision and Infinity Ward to create an exclusive Call of Duty: Ghosts bundle across various European markets when the game is released in November.

The bundle will also include special bonus content, exclusive to Xbox One, and in the UK will be available only at GAME. You'll also receive a copy of FIFA 14.

Was all user hosted games mate. Hence your woes! Gears 3 had dedicated servers and played exceptionally well because of this unless the servers got full. The new cloud based option means this should never happen again.

I'm not sure sure if Black ops 2 had dedicated servers for the 360 version but Jesus they were bad, constantly being disconnected or changing the host or booted back to the lobby.

I know it's a different publisher this time around but wasn't dedicated servers a big selling point for Battlefield 3?

I think you are correct however not necessarily true. Some PS3 games have dedicated servers where as the Xbox counterpart does not and vice versa. But also agree PC version will be the best but seems the 360 will still do the biggest numbers.

PS4 will most likely use dedicated servers too. I can't imagine activision would waste time making new code just to not use dedicated servers when they already have the code for dedicated servers on xbox one :P. PC version better have dedicated servers!
