UPDATE: The official trailer is out. Learn all about the new additions to Battlelog in the video above.
ORIGINAL STORY: Battlefield 4's Battlelog trailer has leaked ahead of its expected reveal later today, revealing the first information on this year's version of Battlelog.
Battlelog now takes advantage of second-screen technology to let players browse servers, join their friends' games and customise their weapons loadout directly from their tablet or smartphone, which will be reflected in the game the moment they hit the save button. A multiplayer map featuring your teammates' positions will also be displayed on the tablet in-game.
The service also introduces 'Geo Leaderboards', letting Battlefield 4 players compete to be the best player in their city. Ever wanted to see how you compare to the rest of your townsfolk? Now you can.
And finally, a new 'Missions' feature lets players set up their own mini-challenges and scenarios between their friends. The challenge shown in the video asks players to compete to destroy the most vehicles in a round, and mission creators appear to be able to set the number of attempts and time limit.
"What we've done is really try and expand the service to be super integral to the game experience itself, more than something just the PC players can enjoy," said Battlelog assistant producer Jesper Nielsen.
"People have their smartphones, they have their tablets, they have their computers next to them while they're playing, and we want to create the Battlefield where it can incorporate all these devices in the experience," producer Oskar Gabrielson adds.
Battlefield 4 launches on November 1.
