Exclusive PS4 DLC for Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4, which each promise 60-minutes of gameplay, will only remain exclusive for six month, small print in a new Sony trailer has revealed.

The small print is only present on the US version of the video, with the text missing in the European cut.

With Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 players will be able to access levels featuring an older Aveline de Grandpré from Assassin's Creed: Liberation. The story will pick up after the end of Liberation and will span three missions. Ubisoft hasn't said what content will be included in the Watch Dogs DLC.

Given the small print we assume the DLC will find its way to other platforms once the six month window has passed.

Assassin's Creed 4 will be available for PS4 on November 29, whilst Watch Dogs has been delayed and will now be released between April and June, 2014.

it doesn't matter that much to me , I don't know if il even know if il be buying the season pass/DLC, could always go back to the game in 6 months a play though all the DLC at once.

I always felt Sony were playing catch-up with this tactic but I'd imagine now they are fairly even.

For me, 60 minutes of extra gameplay will only affect those buying both consoles. I'd certainly not choose one console over another based on an extra 60 minutes in a couple of games. 2 exclusive (as they were marketed at the time) episodes of a game like GTA is a very different matter to an extra 60 minutes of content you'd no doubt not miss if you didn't have it.

It will matter though as most people buying at launch will be buying for cross plat games due to lack of 1st party titles, So DLC may give one an edge over another. And even though I disagree with the lack of honesty, 6 months exclusivity is a long enough period to still encourage people to buy.

Admittedly, unless you're a real fan or like a tiny bit more historical fleshing out, the DLC isn't really worth the exclusivity, just buy AC4 on whatever platform you want.

No it's dirty whenever it happens but I would say Sony frequent this sort of thing more often.

The GTA IV content was apparently an exclusivity period however there was also reports that MS had to pay huge amounts of Money to just get the game on the 360 and the DLC exclusivity was a kickback from Rockstar. But yes dirty tactic. I would also say after 6 months but definitely a year the content is irrelevant. I'll stake my house on more people buying episodes from liberty city than those buying the DLC.

All such deals are now described as "Coming First to Xbox" not as Exclusive DLC. Learning from their mistakes maybe. I cannot recall a time since GTA.

And agree with Neon, AC exclusive content and most DLC for that matter is pants. Paid extra for some several times on 360 and regretted every minute of it.

I am interested in what the Watchdogs DLC will entail but I doubt it'll be up to much going on past experience with Ubisoft.

With all previous Assassin's Creed 'exclusive DLC' it's been dog***** anyway. Honestly, it adds nothing and it isn't even worth getting the game on the other console for if you have both.

its only DLC doesn't change what console you are getting.

Is it only dirty when Sony do it?

I'm pretty sure the exclusivity on GTA 4 DLC that MS had was more than 6 months.

That is just a typical dirty Sony tactic seen it a hundred times before. So basically it's a similar but longer duration deal to MS has with COD and Battlefield. Not like the legends version of FIFA which is exclusive for the Fifa 14 game.
