Xbox One's Kinect brings nothing to the Assassin's Creed experience, Assassin's Creed 4 associate producer Sylvain Trottier has told Edge.

"Would working on the next gen only be better? I never felt like working [across two generations] was worse," Trottier explained. "It never felt like it was a handicap that was slowing us down.

"At the same time, for example, [there are] new things that are introduced by the next gen, like Kinect, but it doesn't really blend in with the AC experience. A more precise Kinect isn't something that will help Assassin's Creed. I won't do the leap of faith in my living room for real."

VideoGamer.com Analysis

Another glowing report for Kinect certainly won't help change the opinion of those who feel the device is adding cost to the Xbox One with no benefit to the gamer.

Wow between you both you have come up with more innovative ideas than the Assassins Creed development team has in 4 years. Bravo give those men a job.

I especially like the poster feature.

That facial recognition sounds great tbh (in my mind, ingame it would prob. be weird :x)
But the whistle command is something I though off too, not that hard to accomplish.. I think :/
Or driving the ship with the kinect... could be fun, as long as it works perfect and you can still use the controller.

Could do the whistle command whilst in hidden cover by shouting at the Kinect to attract enemies?

I wouldn't mind if they forgot Kinect as long as they pushed away from the stagnation and just progress.

Oh, facial recognition to put your face on wanted posters?

Got to admit found this quite funny. Firstly his example is comical and made me chuckle and secondly its this free flowing thinking and ability to innovate that has made Assassins Creed the stagnant and stale IP that it is today. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the latest games inception.

Personally don't think Kinect works with the genre either but the franchise needs something.
