Well, I was playing Darksiders 2, but lost interest quite quickly. I'm not even sure why. Its visually vibrant and quite fun to play. I just didn't bother putting it back in my Playstation. I think I was getting the "seen it all before" syndrome. Shame. I thought I was going to enjoy that one :\
So then, I've been playing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Being a long-time fan of the Ghost Recon series I'm feeling a little let-down by it all. It's a mechanically good game and I am quite enjoying playing it. But, I can't help but feel its treating me like an idiot. Where Advanced Warfighter would give me a map, a conflict and a selection of hardware to solve the problem; Future Soldier gives me a route, a conflict and a selection of hardware, but, then tells me exactly what to do and when to do it. The game simply refuses to let go of my hand and this saddens me. Sometimes the game lets go and everything becomes wonderful (for a few minutes) until I get funnelled back onto the path and told what button I should be pressing.
For me the main problem with Future Soldier is that the pacing is all wrong. It's trying hard to be an explosive, fast-paced, hollywood blockbuster. But, I think that most fans of the series preferred it being a slow-paced, tactical thriller.
Been a quite week since I lost my gold. At the start I was playing a lot of MoH:WF BETA which I like which I didn't expect to being a BETA and having a lot of troubles.
I want XCOM: Enemy Unknow after playing the demo, love it!
I was able to talk a friend around into letting me have FIFA 13 for the weekend and its so much better than 12. 12 always used to frustrate me but all that is gone with 13, even with the one touch ball control system.
