Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommended: Killzone 2 - PS3
The must-own FPS has been something missing from Sony's games library for quite a while. With Resistance trying hard but falling short, the honour fell to Killzone 2, Guerrilla Games' long time in the making PS3 exclusive FPS that has had the gaming world salivating ever since that original, now infamous, CGI trailer. The good news is that the final game somehow manages to live up to the enormous amount of hype, delivering the kind of next-gen thrills and non-stop action PS3 gamers have been waiting for.

Recommended: Halo Wars - Xbox 360
While we're still not sure Microsoft made the best decision when deciding to make the first Halo spin-off an RTS, there's no denying that the team at the now disbanded Ensemble Studios has made the best console RTS we've ever played. With an easy to learn control system, solid visuals and a distinctive Halo look and feel, unless you're a hardcore PC RTS fan you're likely to get a good deal of enjoyment out of Ensemble's final game. If you buy the Collector's Edition you'll also get hold of the Halo 3 Mythic Map pack before everyone else.

Also worth a look
Tom Clancy's EndWar - PC
After a fairly successful console debut, Ubisoft's voice controlled RTS makes its way to the PC this week. We've been playing the final version for a few days, but you'll have to wait until later this week to find out if it's worth your money.

Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason - PC
NecroVisioN - PC
These two first-person shooters from 1C both make great use of modern technology and are something of a rarity: PC exclusives. While we don't think either will make anyone's game of the year list come December, Cryostasis has been dubbed BioShock on a ship, and NecroVision is a fast-paced action-packed FPS complete with massive enemy encounters.

Silent Hill: Homecoming - Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
We've been torn on this one. Homecoming is a game we'd recommend to horror fans, but as a new game in such a loved series it's perhaps not quite up to what we expect. Still, if you want a terribly unnerving experience that truly is a survival horror in the classic sense, you could do a lot worse.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop - Wii
This one could go either way. We've only seen glimpses of this Wii version of the highly regarded Xbox 360 game, so buy with caution. We're not totally convinced that the Wii is the ideal platform for a game built around the idea of a mass zombie outbreak, with the emphasis on mass, but we'll find out soon enough.

And the rest
Family Ski and Snowboard: Compatible with Wii Balance Board - Wii
Hello, Pocoyo! - DS
Imagine Ballet Dancer - DS
Let's Play Fashion Designer - DS
Let's Play Firemen - DS
Let's Play: Pet Hospitals - DS
My Pet Shop - DS
Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad - Xbox 360
Onechanbara: Bikini Zombi Slayers - Wii
Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals - DS
War Leaders: Clash of Nations - PC

i think i will wait for Halo Wars, still going through SF IV. Will def pick it tho as I loved the demo and was not a big RTS fan before this, i think the easy to use controls have turned me to the RTS side
