Capcom has revealed that the Heroes and Heralds pack, a free piece of DLC for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, will be made available on December 19.

The new mode involves picking a side – either Heroes or Heralds – and then scrapping to win character cards, which grant you special abilities when equipped. The latter include speed boosts, immunity from projectiles, and something called X Factor Blowback, which is probably a lot less seedy than it sounds.

There's also a new mode that lets you play as Galactus, the enormous (and thoroughly cheap) end-of-game boss.

Me too. I would have waited. Was all down to licencing though so we're told. The schedule for releasing content based on Marvel's licences meant SOMETHING had to go out on X date, even though the game wasnt finished :|

Ultimate is what the game was supposed to be in the first place. Just a shame I had to waste my purchase on an inferior product :|

Next fighting game purchases for me will be Streetfighter X Tekken and/or Skullgirls. I'm happy to skip this boat.

Would be nice if they didn't release MvsC3 then STRAIGHT AWAY release Ultimate. Really annoys me when I've spent money on the first game.
