Sony's PS Vita bursts into the UK video games chart, claiming the top two places through Sony's Uncharted: Golden Abyss at No.1 and EA's FIFA Football at No.2.

These two titles accounted for a massive 50 per cent of Vita's 22 launch title sales: Uncharted with 31 per cent and FIFA Football with 18 per cent.

Rayman: Origins surged to No.5 thanks to the launch of the game on PS Vita, and claims fourth place on the Vita only chart. It is WipEout 2048 which took third place in the Vita chart, but has to settle for No.11 in the All Formats.

Outside of the Vita launch, UFC 3 drops 53 per cent and slides to No.3, whilst the poor showing for triple-A releases continues with Syndicate; EA's franchise reboot comes in at No.7.

Nintendo's The Last Story is new at No.15 and Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition sneaks into the Top 20 at No.17.

SEGA's well-received third-person action title Binary Domain seems to have been ignored by consumers, charting at a disappointing but not unexpected No.35.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

No.7 for Syndicate is pretty poor for a major release from a publisher the size of EA. The game couldn't even outsell UFC 3 which took a 53 per cent sales drop on week 2.

EA must now be seriously concerned about the launch of SSX this Friday and next week's debut of Mass Effect 3. We expect SSX to chart at No.1, but will the sales be "BIG" enough.

With the launch over also expect Vita software sales to plummet, with their chart presence dwindling to only the major players.

Mario Party 9 for Wii could secure a Top 20 place, while Alan Wake's retail PC release has no doubt been hampered by an earlier launch on Steam.
