Analyst: UFC 2010 sales below expectations

Cites competitive pressure and not a poor game.

Sales of Yuke's and THQ's UFC Undisputed 2010 are below expectations, Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian has said.

In a research note released last week, Sebastian said the game is "tracking below our expectations at retail," and also pointed to heavy discounts on the title at Amazon.com after only a week on sale.

However, Sebastian doesn't believe the quality of the sequel is necessarily to blame. Instead he pointed to other factors such as "competitive pressure" from the likes of Red Dead Redemption at retail.
