What we've been playing this week.
Tom Orry, Editor - Geometry Wars 2, Xbox 360
It's been an awfully barren period for new releases, but thankfully Xbox LIVE Arcade has come good in our time of need. Last week I was hooked on Braid, but now I'm back on Geometry Wars 2. I just can't stay away from Pacifism mode. It's quite sad really. I spend hours trying to beat my 15 million point high score, then check out the leaderboard to see somebody, presumably a cyborg from the future, has scored almost 1.7 billion. I know that your score very quickly rises once you get into the million point range, but still... 1.7 billion is just insane. I prefer to set the game to display my friends' high scores. At least among them I can at least pretend to have some skills.
Wesley Yin-Poole, Deputy Editor - Too Human, Xbox 360
As regular VideoGamer.com forumites will know, I've finished Too Human, the latest game from controversial Silicon Knights head honcho Denis Dyack. I can't really talk too much about it until next week (sorry guys, you know how these things work!) but I will say that it's going to go down in history as one of the most divisive games ever. I've seen pictures of Marmite plastered throughout bulging forum threads across the internet - it's an accurate assessment. Expect a review on Tuesday.
James Orry, News Editor - Braid, Xbox 360
I was trying to explain a solution to one of Braid's many puzzles to a friend a few nights ago. It went something like this: "So once you've managed to get the hedgehog across the moving bridge and moving over to the right, head up to the top of the right most platform. Then fall down and stand in the open space on the far right of the level. When the hedgehog falls down jump up into it. Then rewind time until you're stood at the top on the far most platform. Let your shadow jump down and jump into the hedgehog, then jump off the platform onto the mid-air hedgehog and bounce over to the right platform to get the jigsaw piece." It's no surprise that he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Braid is a game that needs to be played to be believed. It's too complicated for words.

Yes. Nothing.
Unfortunately I have a job and it isn't being paid to play games :P I just don't put aside the time to et into big games at the moment, and i'm now bored of Guitar Hero 3 and Geometry Wars 2 :( I'm crawling my way through No More Heroes though ^_^

The rest of the week I have been championing the cause of Too Human (I hate marmite) by placing carefully worded praises everywhere throughout the interwebnet and beating detractors over the head with a stick. All that's come from it is the reinforcement of the idea that gamers are a diverse bunch who will always enjoy different things, but if I've done enough to help boost sales to ensure the next two sequels then I'm happy.
I tried Braid and, well, I still hate marmite :) I've yet to get around to Geometry Wars 2's demo, but it's pencilled in for this week.
