Tomb Raider multiplayer confirmed, developed by Deus Ex studio
Eidos Montreal helping out with online multiplayer, Crystal Dynamics reveals.
Tomb Raider will feature a multiplayer mode, Square Enix has confirmed.
Leaving Crystal Dynamics to put the finishing touches to the game's single-player campaign, Tomb Raider's online mode is being developed by Deus Ex: Human Revolution studio Eidos Montreal, and will be formally revealed in the next issue of OXM US.
"I know you all will have dozens and dozens of questions," Crystal Dynamics' community manager Meagan Marie said on the game's official forums, "hang in there.
"OXM has the exclusive details for now. We'll have lots of information coming out of CES in early January. I can't answer much (anything) until then."
Tomb Raider's multiplayer was first rumoured last month after a pulled listing at GAME suggested that a team-based competitive multiplayer would be included.
Amazon is also offering a "top-secret" pre-order incentive due to be revealed early this year, which we suspect may be a multiplayer-based bonus...

Be strong girl!
One person is Lara, the other players are male chauvinists. The men take it in turns to hunt wildlife while Lara is continually mocked for having thin upper arms and not allowed to join in. The countdown starts at zero and doesn't end until Lara has had enough of the mockery and quits. Or, Lara teaches the men a lesson in equal-rights and manages to hunt the biggest creature in the arena. If Lara loses and quits then she must return home and wait for the men to return so that she can cook them dinner. If Lara stands her ground, hunts and catches the largest beast, then the men must cook dinner while Lara cracks open a cool beer from the fridge and goes up a rank.. Be strong girl!

I don't want to buy a new coat for my virtual death machine because it gives me +10 death-bringing. I don't want developers wasting time on creating this pointless content, when they could be making my games better instead. I can't blame them. Business is business. I blame the idiots who keep buying it.
EDIT: Spend more money to be better at the game is a concept that I disagree with most.

I'm glad that they are working so hard on adapting Lara into this modern woman with deep emotions and a real purpose in the world. I can't wait to see what suitable multiplayer events they come up with. Because, frantically running around big open spaces while trying to murder huge numbers of people is so dumb and passé for a girl like her.
