Crystal Dynamics has "no plans" to release any single-player expansions for Tomb Raider, revealing that all of the game's DLC will be "based around the multiplayer experience".

"There are currently no plans in place for any Single Player expansions," said Tomb Raider's global brand director Karl Stewart in a Reddit AMA. "All of our DLC is based around the Multiplayer experience for now."

The news may disappoint some fans who had been hoping for additional tombs to explore in the game's single-player.

Earlier this month, a screengrab taken from one of the game's promotional videos suggested that additional single-player DLC could be on the way. By the sounds of things, that won't be the case.

The studio doesn't have any plans to release a "classic outfit DLC", either, despite being requested by fans.

"We did try to have a lot of nods to the classics in this reboot," added creative director Noah Hughes, "and even her outfit itself is intended to evoke her classic outfit in a way, but is more practical for her situation. This was just an example of trying to play that balance between fresh and familiar."

Tomb Raider's first DLC expansion, The Caves & Cliffs Multiplayer Map Pack, went on sale on Xbox LIVE yesterday. It's due for release on PlayStation 3 and PC at a later date.
