The Orange Box is a video game compilation created by Valve, which contains Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. The Windows version is due for release on October 10, 2007 and will be distributed as both retail boxed copy, and as a download available through Valve's Steam service. The package will retail for $49.95, with a $5 discount to those who pre-order it through Steam. If purchased individually through Steam, the games cost $129.75 ($29.95 for Half-Life 2, $19.95 for Half-Life 2: Episode One, $29.95 for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, $19.95 for Portal, and $29.95 for Team Fortress 2). The compilation will also be released on the Xbox 360 on October 10, 2007. A PlayStation 3 version will be released in November 2007.
