Today's hype-building trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was captured "entirely on Xbox 360," according to Bethesda community manager Nick Breckon revealed on Twitter.

The trailer, posted below, shows the first actual in-engine footage of the upcoming RPG.

Breckon also confirmed in December last year that Skyrim uses an "all-new" engine.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is scheduled to be released for 360, PS3 and PC on November 11.

If you ask me it's pretty much akin to 'supe-ing' up a car, no-one ever really needs all the power, but as a hobby and for bragging rights you make your gear as powerful and impressive as possible.

Or if you play competetively, or seriously play an MMO. Those things require more power than any FPS, for sure.

See i thought about that too, i mean cost at which you keep on having to update the pc, is it worth it? I mean the only real reason for me to upgrade my pc is for my 3rd year project and a little gaming. (My pc is way way too noisy, even now when i'm only browsing the internet.)

Might as well just get it on PS3/360.

I've pretty much given up on PC gaming due to the cost of keeping a PC powerful enough to keep playing games. So i'll definitely get this on 360, but i REALLY hope it's less boring than Oblivion.

After 200 odd hours it can get a bit dry. Most types of music would ruin it, but not symphonic and power metal.

Haha yeah I saw him on Twitter moaning over how awesome it would be to train a dragon and ride it. He's a sad, sad little man; and he has my pity.

Are you serious?

How could anyone pay extra money to ruin an Elder Scrolls soundtrack. That's like going to an art gallery that you have to pay for to look at your 2 year old sons drawing he did once that you could look at at home.

Trailer looked awsome, but I'll probably give this as much attention as a gave the rest of the series, i.e. none.

Better to let them down early. Don't want him getting all excited and running around in a Dragon Kigu for the rest of the year.

Yeaahhhhh no. There would need to be major performance requirements for dragon riding because you're high up and moving quickly. It means longer draw distance, and quicker loading. Unless they employ that texture method I've forgotten the name of that dynamically changes the texture resolution and detail relative to distance, and do it really efficiently...

So no, no dragon riding =( I'm not sure what platform to get this on yet. I want it on 360 so I can listen to DragonForce, but it's soooo looouuddd >_< Might just buy a new 360 tbh.
