Bethesda has revealed that the highly anticipated 1.4 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released for Xbox 360 today. Once rolled out, the patch will automatically be downloaded when starting the game on Xbox 360.

"It's coming! 1.4 should go up on XBL early tomorrow," tweeted Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines last night.

"PS3 update is looking good too. We'll update if we get more info from Sony," he added.

While the update will be good news to Xbox 360 gamers experiencing a number of bugs, it's even more important for PlayStation 3 players - Skyrim on PS3 has suffered from terrible lag ever since its release.

Yesterday the high-resolution texture pack and Creation Kit was released for the PC version of Skyrim.

Patch worked perfectly for me as far as I can tell so far! :D 168 hours not wasted after all! I did spend about 5 minutes watching notifications pop up and bookshelf inventory menu showing up and a bit of gold was removed from my inventory from when I asked the innkeeper if I could rent a room in Dawnstar a fair few times when it first glitched. Seems it didn't have a problem with memory after all. ;)

Now, where was I? ....

Have you chosen your nightingale perk from one of the moons on the floor? As I recall thats what opens the door.

Gutted I still can't finish companions or thieves guilds because quests won't update and the blades won't talk to me until parthanax is dead but that can't happen due to his health bar constantly regenerating after I deplete it! I feel like I've spent 250 hours watching a film with no ending

I can't wait for the PS3 update either. I can't progress any further at all until it comes, hopefully the patch will fix all the issues I have.
Every single quest and conversation gets to a dead end. I traveled everywhere, assuming the glitches were just in Dawnstar, a place I had not yet visited, but I traveled to Markarth to continue another quest and it was glitched. I then traveled all the way to Winterhold to attempt to start another quest to see a dead end.

It's really really frustrating and i pray the patch fixes every glitch on my 168 hour save though I have been warned that it might not be able to fix the glitches in that save but it should be able to stop any future glitches if I created a new one. :(

Just updated this patch on my Xbox and the most noticeable result is that all incidental conversation has gone. I'm stood in Riften marketplace. Complete silence.

When you approach a character, unless they have specific dialogue, they now just stand there in silence, staring at you. Creepy for one but surely an issue that should have been noticed?

Unless its just me that is..

yey! Can't wait for the PS3 patch. If they had a Mac version I'd probably get that instead from Steam, as it is my PC isn't quite fast enough with its basic Dual Core 2 processor.

I'm curious...why would you avoid the patch? What feedback do you expect to see that stop you patching?

I think I'll avoid the patch until some feedback comes in. Hopefully this patch will clear the way to some DLC, as I'm still totally hooked.
