Bethesda has outlined what updates and tools are coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Of interest for most people is news of a new patch coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game - rolling out first on PC next week. The update will address issues including magic resistance not calculating properly and what Bethesda calls the "amazing backwards flying dragon".

Further updates will be made after the holidays, fixing issues and addressing balance problems caused by fixing exploits. Bethesda has stated that updates will generally hit PC first, with console updates taking longer to be certified and processed by Sony and Microsoft.

PC gamers are to receive some juicy exclusive tools in the shape of the Creation Kit, letting those inclined to build new content to do just that. The Creation Kit is the same development tool Bethesda used to create Skyrim. A Wiki and collection of videos will be released to help budding game designers.

All created content will be available at the push of a button thanks to integration of the Steam Workshop. This will allow users to browse, queue up and rate all the mods uploaded. Fans of existing modding sites will still be able to upload their creations to those.
