Splinter Cell: Conviction, the latest stealth outing featuring Sam Fisher, sold 1.9 million units during the Ubisoft's first quarter which ended June 30, 2010.

Conviction hit stores in April 2010 on the back of generally positive reviews.

The publisher doesn't appear all that pleased by the game's performance, though, referring to its sales as "solid".

The game was cited by Ubisoft as a contributor to its first quarter sales of €160 million.

I only got round to playing SC:Conviction last week and thought it was a cracking game - a little on the short side for the SP campaign but it burned really bright. Would fully recommend it to anyone.

I always thought this series would've made a good movie (or even a TV series) but the shame is with diminishing sales figures that would probably never happen :(

I wonder if that sold more batteries for Duracell and how much they paid for that...

It was pretty cool I thought.

I have read and heard good things about Conviction and it is probably one of the first games I would consider if I owned a 360. It is a real shame that Playstation gamers missed out as we've been enjoying the Splinter Cell / Clancy franchises for years and plenty of PS3 owners would buy it.

2m is decent enough, game sales seem quite slow this year for some reason.

@Indoorheroes, I'm sure what ever MS paid them for exclusivity boosted the profit margins for this.

Do we know how much the game cost to develop? I know that it had an extended time in the oven and had a tear down midway through so maybe it didn't make much net profit?
