Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has been hit by a further two month delay, developer City Interactive has confirmed.

The shooter sequel now won’t ship until Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

VideoGamer.com first broke the news that the game had seen a further delay late last year, after the game’s release date changed from January 15 to a vague ‘Q1 2013’.

It’s the third delay to hit the shooter, which was originally due for release in August 2012, before being pushed back to October 2012, and subsequently January 2013.

Reasons for the new delay are currently unknown. However, distributor Namco Bandai told VideoGamer.com that “polish is key to the title’s success” while discussing the game’s previous delay.

The new March release date puts Ghost Warrior 2 up against stiff competition.

Both Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider reboot and Maxis’ latest Sim City launch just one week before, with Gears of War: Judgment due to release in the following week.
