Sniper: Ghost Warrior for Xbox 360 and PC has sold more than one million units worldwide, City Interactive has announced.

The figure represents actual sales to consumers.

City Interactive points out that the one million milestone was reached within seven months of the game's launch, with the PS3 version still to come.

"A lot of hard work and dedication by the entire City Interactive team went into the development of Sniper: Ghost Warrior, so we are understandably pleased about the worldwide success of the game," said Marek TymiƄski, CEO of City Interactive.

The City Interactive team began working on the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior back in early 2010, and has licensed the CryEngine3 game engine. Analysis

We can't say we enjoyed Sniper, but poor reviews did nothing to damper sales. However, we're not convinced a sequel will be able to pull off the same feat.

Holy Good F*ck. I'm am disappointed in everyone who bought this.

The only silver lining on this is that the sequel or sequels could turn in to something decent. Although, why would they bother making a good game when they know sh*t games with appealing titles sell.

This is a little... upsetting? No, a mild version of depressing I think.

Especially when games such as Enslaved hardly sell.

Its been a nice distraction from the ever so serious MoH & CoD franchises just a shame its been a bit dodgy on occasion , hopefully the Ps3 version will be better & i look forward to the sequel

I bought one, but only because my daughter tried it out round a friends and said "Dad, can we get that? I like it!"

So we got it, and I'm naff at it. However, the game seems built for my daughter who can jump onto multiplayer and snipe to her heart's content for hours on end. And I kid you not, she wins every single match that she's in. Every single one. Never loses. Unbelievable, but true. She's 16.
