Shadowrun begins format wars in June

Microsoft has announced that its cross-platform shooter will be released across Europe on June 1.

Shadowrun will be the first title to utilise both Xbox Live and Games For Windows Live, enabling PC and Xbox 360 gamers to compete together online.

Shadowrun is a first-person shooter that rewards players' cleverness and split-second improvisation through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced technology.

The game is set in Santos Brazil in the year 2031 and tells the story of the struggle between two opposing forces: the RNA Global and the Lineage. Players can choose to play as a dwarf, troll, elf or human and must master the combination of magic and technology.

Shadowrun will be released on June 1 priced £29.99 for PC and £39.99 for Xbox 360.
