Developer: SEGA Racing Studio
Format: PS3, XB360, PC
Genre: Racing
Release date: Autumn 2007

Game Overview:

The introduction of SEGA Rally to the arcades in 1995 had the single biggest impact on the racing genre. Subsequent console rally games concentrated on a realistic simulation of the sport, but their popularity, reflected in sales, steadily dropped over the last decade. Now, SEGA Rally is back and set to reinvigorate the genre with the vital ingredients that many of the modern racers lack - fun, character and beauty, with few rally games able to match its unique and rewarding experience. Rally's dead, long live SEGA Rally.

Key Features:

  • Bumper to bumper Rally racing: Close competitive Rally racing with multiple cars on track racing bumper to bumper across Rally inspired environments.

  • Deformation: Fully deformable environments & surfaces that will ensure no two laps, let alone a race, will be the same.

  • Speed & adrenaline: Fun, looping tracks, with a wide variety of surface types and vehicles including 4WD, 2WD & Classic vehicles.

  • A driving fantasy: Set to offer a wonderfully vibrant graphical world, featuring 8 different environments each taking inspiration from exotic locations around the world.

  • Competition: Advanced AI, multiplayer and online capabilities will ensure a healthy level of competition for all standards of driver.

  • Immediacy: Arcade accessibility with simulation depth.

from what I've read in the previews - the track deformation in Sega Rally will make this a really good game. Its far more advanced than in Motorstorm apparently.

The ’surface deformation’ is a pretty good feature:
Sega were very proud of the fact that when you skid through the muddy parts of the track, your wheels will churn up the track surface. These tyre troughs will persist through the whole race, potentially destroying the traditional racing line. You can really feel the difference in the track on laps two and three, through the magic of force feedback. (Or not, if you’re stuck with a sixaxis controller). This brings the game much closer to the spirit of rally racing, forcing you to negotiate unexpected lumps and bumps. MotorStorm tried to do the same thing but, as we have noticed ourselves, track marks would disappear and reappear for no obvious reason. Gouges stay where they’re supposed to in this version of Sega Rally.

well the graphics look great...... but so did those in the motorstorm trailer but i have no doubt in sega (unless it's with another 3d sonic that isn't sonic adventure 3 ;] ) to make this into an arcade retrospect which in my opion will be awsome.
