R-Type Dimensions on XBLA this week

The classic side-scrolling shoot 'em up is given a third dimension.

Microsoft has announced that this Wednesday's Xbox LIVE Arcade release will be R-Type Dimensions from Tozai Games and SouthEnd Interactive.

Coin-up classics R-Type and R-Type II have been bundled together in one package that features the original 2D visuals plus a 3D graphics mode - players are even able to switch between graphics modes on the fly. The classic gameplay remains untouched, but a new Infinite mode should allow even the most novice of shmup fans to complete each game either alone or cooperatively over Xbox LIVE.

R-Type Dimensions will be available from February 4 priced 1200 MS Points.
