ChartTrack reports that EA's FIFA 10 has entered the All Formats All Prices video game chart at No.1, becoming the second biggest all formats launch ever in the UK behind GTA IV.
Sales of the title were cannibalised by the Xbox 360 and PS3, with 48 per cent and 46 per cent of sales respectively. So strong were the individual format sales that the Xbox 360 game became the fifth fastest selling single format release, one place ahead of the PS3 version.
Nintendo's Professor Layton holds at No.2, although it's only 300 units that separate the handheld puzzling adventure with Microsoft's Halo 3: ODST, itself down 75 per cent over week one sales. Need for Speed: Shift slides one place to No.4, while Wii Sports Resort sticks at No.5 thanks to a 33 per cent sales increase.
The week's big mover is EA's MySims Agents, up from No.16 to No.7. It's a new entry at No.12 for Gran Turismo PSP, although digital sales aren't counted, and there are also new chart entries for Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2 at No.26 and Risen at No.29.
Don't expect FIFA 10 to be moved from the top spot next week, but look out for strong new entries from Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Scribblenauts.
